AI isn’t just a buzzword — it’s transforming the way we live and work today. We hear about AI, GenAI, and LLMs, but what’s behind the technology? And how is it changing the game for the people it’s designed to serve?
Our annual flagship event, Perspectives with Vyn, brings people together — to share stories, learn, and celebrate successes as one. In a world of rapid technological growth, we put our heart into what truly matters: the people on the ground.
That’s the essence of Perspectives. This year, we had an exclusive line-up of visionary thought leaders, industry experts, and dynamic change-makers diving into how GenAI is impacting real lives, real industries, and real people — not just in theory, but in practice.
Vibhu Mittal, Inflection AI: How to build effective systems that use Large Language Models (LLMs) and the future of AI
If you believe Eric Schmidt and Reid Hoffman and Larry Ellison and so on – they are saying that the next generation of models will all cost $100+ billion to train. Today, about 6 billion conversations have occurred on Vibhu’s Inflection AI in one year. How did Vibhu do it?
Our headline speaker flew all the way from Silicon Valley to share his secret of building effective systems using LLMs. He took us on a transformative journey, tracing the evolution from early Natural Language Processing to the current advancements in LLMs. Each story brought his visionary ideas to life. His ultimate goal has been to build AI models that embody emotional intelligence, a frontier where technology meets human empathy. Today, Inflection AI’s vast and groundbreaking data set is a testament to that scale of innovation. Thinking about the wisdom of Hans Moravec, the pioneering professor of robotics at Carnegie Mellon University, Vibhu reminded us that the Moravec Paradox is at the heart of AI. As he eloquently put it,
‘When you try to do AI, all hard things will seem easy, and all the easy things will be incredibly hard.’
His profound insights grounded the conversation, leaving us inspired in the clouds by the potential that lies ahead in the world of artificial intelligence.
Manu Gupta, Blue Lion VC: The world of investment for new technology businesses, how solving real business problems is the answer
Did you know? In just the last three months, nearly $18 billion has been raised in investment for AI companies. That’s 30% of all the funding in venture capital in just the last three months!
Manu’s pragmatic perspective of the AI business shined through as he joined us next. He founded Blue Lion, a tech venture capital fund based in California and London, backing founders tackling society’s most pressing problems. And true to his mission, he gave us a rare glimpse into the strategies behind investments in today’s rapidly evolving world of LLMs. He challenged tech companies to reflect on their purpose and planning, pushing them to align their innovations with real societal impact. He said,
‘We have to sell solutions for people as opposed to simply just creating technology for the sake of technology. AI for the sake of AI makes no sense, AI for the sake of business problems is what we need.’
Manu Gupta, Founder of Blue Lion VC
So when Manu requested, ‘do something for society’, he meant it. Today, his capital is singularly focused on investing in businesses that benefit society and drive meaningful change. Manu’s approach is a powerful reminder that investing in technology is not just about profit, but about purpose, impact, and the power to transform society.
Francesca Serravalle, Vodafone: Solving the data problem, building GenAI into the data, and driving the social value of creation
Vodafone is embedding AI in every line of business. What makes them different is their social value of creation, shares Francesca.
As a society, we are in the midst of a profound transformation – redefining how we work, integrating data into every facet of the digital world, and reshaping the future of business. Francesca brought with her an electrifying wave of insights, igniting in all of us a new vision for how we can transform our own approaches. A Telecom expert with over 15 years of experience spanning portfolio strategy, marketing, product management and business development, Francesca’s clarity of purpose was undeniable. She shared her mantra with us:
‘To become a catalyst of innovation, we need to be brave and transform holistically across the network, the operation, the service, the customers and the business.’
Francesca Serravalle, Head of Infrastructure & Energy at Vodafone
She called us to embrace change and lead it with courage. At the end, Francesca reminds us that all AI outcomes are as good as its data quality. She revealed that if we don’t solve the data challenge, we can bring any intelligence we want, but we won’t achieve meaningful outcomes.
Mark Rolston, ex-Frogdesign: Designing for transforming technology: What are the five principles of technophilia?
Chances are good that at least one piece of technology in your life has a piece of Mark Rolston thinking behind it. Former Chief Creative Officer of Frogdesign and Founder and CEO of Argodesign, Mark has been one of the earliest design pioneers in software, helping forge disciplines around user interface design and mobile platforms.
So, when Mark introduced a design perspective to the conversation about technology, the room was captivated. In an audience of technologists, he boldly explored the intersection of technology, creativity and AI, urging us to rethink how we conceive and consume products in today’s world. He introduced us to the 5 Principles of Technophilia to live by. At the heart of these principles were humanity, authenticity and privacy. Mark underscored that if we are to design a future that balances innovation with integrity, we must place these at the forefront of our digital revolution.
Kapil Singhal, Vyntelligence: How Vynners are changing lives, driving business outcomes, and transforming the industry
Today, within 5 minutes, anybody can be onboarded on the Vyn platform and drive productivity across the field workforce.
Our co-founder and CEO, Kapil is steering Vyntelligence to build a community of game changers that share his vision for a sustainable future. It has been 11 years since we embarked on this journey, one made possible by the invaluable guidance of our advisors, the trust of our customers and the engagement of our users. As Kapil reflected on how the evening had started, he reminded us of the pivotal wisdom that shaped our path at Vyn. Vibhu’s advice was a powerful call to focus on solving the right problems, look for small insights, as this will help us one day. Equally impactful was Mark’s counsel:
‘Love what you create, just be proud of what you have, and don’t forget the human touch.‘
Mark Rolston, Former CCO at Frogdesign
In pursuit of innovation, it is the human connection that breathes life into the solutions we offer at Vyn.
