How Telent and Enel are Boosting Asset Visibility and Cutting Inspection Costs

At Vyn, we love telling stories, especially those of our customers. They are the heroes who leverage innovation and our technology to transform their organisations. This commitment to provide a platform for sharing these success stories is why we hold our Vynners Community Event. It allows us all to learn from each other and foster business success. After all, your success is our success.

This session, we had the honour of welcoming Mairead O’Rouke, Senior Project Manager at Telent, and Michele Ronco, Construction Innovation and Technology Engineer at Enel Green Power. These leaders are championing change, leveraging data, and driving efficiency in their industries through Vyntelligence. Their stories highlight how innovation combined with data empowers organisations to achieve remarkable outcomes.

How Telent and Enel are Boosting Asset Visibility and Cutting Inspection Costs

Telent’s journey of optimising ambulance installation services with Vyn

Mairead O’Rouke and her team set out to upgrade 6,000 ambulances across the UK. Initially planning for 11 sites, they soon realised the scale was much larger, with 60 sites needed. Faced with the challenge to streamline operations while maintaining quality, they found their answer in Vyntelligence’s integrated video tool, cutting out paper forms and multiple systems, saving time and reducing admin overhead.

In an ambulance and operational environment, every second counts,” Mairead explained. “With Vyn, the trusts love the visibility they now have, with lifetime tracking of each stage, from pre-checks to commissioning.”

The platform allowed them to maintain high standards while cutting down on the labour and resources required. The result? Not only enhanced visibility but also significant savings — £250,000 saved to date, with a reduction of over 111,000 miles in travel, helping to minimise environmental impact. In terms of actual audit capability, they did 40,000 inspections on the ambulances and 28,500 asset captures. Now with there being roughly 6,000 ambulances in the UK, there are circa 250 variants that they are seeing nationally.

As Mairead emphasised, Vyn became essential in ensuring that their large-scale project could remain agile, cost-efficient, and focused on quality.

Vyn has given us the visibility and efficiency that we didn’t have previously. It’s really rewarding to watch how team members and key stakeholders see the power of Vyn,” expressed Mairead.

Enel Green Power building a data-driven construction strategy

At Enel Green Power, Michele Ronco uses Vyntelligence to support large-scale renewable energy projects. Building solar plants valued between $200 million and $400 million requires robust data management, particularly in construction, where the flow of information from contractors is critical.

Michele and his team faced a challenge: they needed a way to regain visibility into project data without incurring excessive travel costs. With Vyn, they were able to attach video evidence to data submissions, allowing for remote verification and ensuring that data was reliable and accurate.

Data is everywhere, but you need to trust it,” Michele said. “With Vyn, we regained the visibility we needed, enabling us to make smarter decisions.”

By using video notes, Enel’s team could assess inspection quality in real-time, ensuring that any issues were identified and addressed immediately. The impact of Vyn went beyond improved visibility. Enel’s construction team restructured their budgeting and inspection strategies, reducing non-essential inspections and focusing on high-value activities. This lean approach resulted in a 25% reduction in inspection hours, translating to significant savings, from over $1.3 million in costs over two years.

By eliminating inefficiencies and streamlining processes, Michele’s team was able to prioritise quality over quantity, ensuring that every decision added value to the project. Vyn’s tools also enabled targeted training, allowing teams to upskill efficiently and focus on what truly mattered, maximising the potential of each team member.

Key Takeaways to Championing Change:

  1. Create a wishlist mindset: Encourage users to think big and envision solutions without barriers. This helps identify ambitious, yet achievable, goals.
  2. Be persistent: Change doesn’t happen overnight. Continuous improvement is key to long-term success.
  3. Build confidence with visible wins: Start with small, achievable changes to demonstrate the value of the new processes, fostering trust and confidence within the team.
  4. Engage stakeholders iteratively: Involve all key stakeholders throughout the process to ensure the solution aligns with their needs and goals.
  5. Secure sponsorship from top management: Leadership support is crucial to driving adoption and sustaining change.

At Vyntelligence, we are proud to share the stories of visionary leaders like Mairead and Michele, who are transforming their industries by empowering their teams. Their stories serve as powerful reminders that by driving asset visibility, businesses can unlock new levels of efficiency, cost savings, and success.
