We’re proud to share that we've been named a finalist in two categories at the Utility Week Awards 2026, alongside two of our water partners.
With Portsmouth Water, our Digital Water Efficiency Deployment programme is a finalist for the Consumer Behaviour Change Award. With Severn Trent Water, Wet Well Cleansing: Video AI-Driven Pollution Prevention is a finalist for the Digital Transformation Award.
Both projects share one idea: put guided video in the hands of the people doing the work, and let physical-world AI turn it into better outcomes for customers and the environment.
About the Utility Week Awards 2026
The Utility Week Awards celebrate the people, projects and organisations setting the standard for excellence across energy and water.
The sector has made big promises for the rest of this decade: new infrastructure, future-proofed assets, a protected environment and a step change in customer service. This year’s categories were overhauled to match. They reflect the growing role of technology, the need to drive behaviour change around energy and water use, and the push for innovation to move out of the sandbox and into business as usual.
An independent judging panel reviewed more than 350 entries from across energy, water and the supply chain. Judges looked for work that goes beyond regulatory requirements, connects clearly to customer needs and makes a genuine difference. Being named a finalist from that field is a real recognition of the teams behind these projects.
Consumer Behaviour Change Award: Portsmouth Water
Project: Digital Water Efficiency Deployment programme
This award recognises the leadership role utilities play in helping customers change how they use water and energy, strengthening security of supply and cutting carbon. Judges looked for meaningful customer engagement that delivers measurable impact.
With Portsmouth Water, we set out to make water efficiency advice personal, fast and scalable. Customers use their smartphone to record short videos of how they use water around their home and garden. Vyntelligence AI analyses the footage and returns tailored recommendations to help them use less.
Starting with smart-metered households showing above-average use, the service replaces time-consuming home visits, is expected to reach up to ten times more customers with no extra field resource, and aims to complete more than 5,000 reviews in its first year.
“Every customer uses water differently, both in their home and garden, so it’s important that the advice we provide reflects their individual habits and behaviours.”
- Sam Dawson, Head of Demand Management, Portsmouth Water

Digital Transformation Award: Severn Trent Water
Project: Wet Well Cleansing - Video AI-Driven Pollution Prevention
This award recognises utilities embracing digital opportunities to operate more efficiently and deliver better outcomes for customers.
With Severn Trent Water, we’ve replaced photo-only wet well cleansing records with a structured, video assurance process and a full digital audit trail, so remote teams can drive right-first-time fixes. Now expanding to contractors, it moves Severn Trent from reactive compliance to proactive risk management, targeting pollution incidents and protecting rivers, the environment and customers.
Sponsoring the AI Deployment Award

We’re also proud to sponsor this year’s AI Deployment Award. It celebrates utilities that have embraced AI at pace to deliver efficiencies, improve service delivery and show clear business value.
That matters to us. AI earns its place in utilities when it leaves the pilot stage and helps frontline teams do better work every day. We’re looking forward to seeing who the judges recognise.
What’s next
Two finalist places, in two very different categories, show the range of what Agentic VIdeo Intelligence can do for utilities. One starts with a customer at home, the other with a crew at a wet well, and both turn physical-world work into actionable intelligence.
A huge thank you to our partners at Portsmouth Water and Severn Trent Water, and to every field colleague and customer who took part. These nominations belong to them as much as to us.
Winners will be revealed at the Utility Week Awards ceremony on 1 December at Grosvenor House Hotel, London. We’ll see you there, and we’ll be cheering on every finalist.
