Most water networks are managed on asset data that's months, sometimes years, out of date. Northumbrian Water and Vyntelligence set out to change that, and the industry has just taken notice.
Vyntelligence (Vyn®), the category-pioneering Agentic Video Intelligence Work Platform, has won Asset Management of the Year award at the 2026 Water Industry Awards, in partnership with Northumbrian Water Group (NWG). The award recognises The Digital Eye for CSO Excellence, a joint programme that showcased the efficient and effective management of assets critical to the water sector.
What the programme delivered
Vyn® and NWG have empowered frontline teams to capture expert-grade asset insights directly in the field, enabling faster, better-informed decisions. The result: reduced operational costs, a significant drop in incidents, and improved efficiency across NWG's assets, delivered by putting video intelligence directly into the hands of the people closest to the network.
Last year, Vyntelligence announced a major expansion of its partnership with Northumbrian Water (NWG), one of the UK's largest holding companies for water supply, sewerage, and wastewater industries.
At the time, Martin Jackson, CIO at Northumbrian Water Group, said:
"Vyntelligence are a valued partner who have helped us to transform the digital capabilities used daily by our field colleagues… Using video to capture to produce insights in this way has enabled field teams more time to focus on delivering the work for our customers, created opportunities for more innovative ways of working, and helped to ensure the safety of our colleagues. We are looking forward to continuing our successful partnership with Vyntelligence into AMP8 and expanding the use of the platform to support our ambitious asset investment programme."
Over the last five years, the partnership has demonstrated transformative impact, achieving multimillion-pound savings through faster customer issue resolution, reduced penalties, and smarter asset lifecycle management.
Why this matters now
The win lands at a pivotal moment for the water sector. As AMP8 drives greater regulatory scrutiny on asset health evidence, water companies face growing pressure to justify investment decisions with robust, current asset condition data. Most enterprise systems remain deprived of accurate field input, with assets often going years between inspections.
Vyntelligence closes that gap, enabling organisations to achieve video-based asset intelligence across the full asset lifecycle: from planning, build, and commissioning through to operations and maintenance.
Background
Vyntelligence's partnership with Northumbrian Water Group has grown into a total asset optimisation programme, putting Agentic Video Intelligence at the heart of field and customer operations. By enabling frontline engineers to capture structured, expert-grade data through guided video workflows, NWG has unlocked a step-change in how it understands, manages, and maintains its network.
Vyntelligence and NWG were also named finalists in the Pollution Mitigation Initiative of the Year category at the same awards, further recognition of the breadth of impact their collaboration is delivering for the environment and for customers.
What's next
This win validates asset intelligence as a core pillar for Vyntelligence, alongside site intelligence and work assurance.
