When did you join and what do you do at Vyn?
I joined Vyn in October 2014. It has been quite a journey since then! I am a Senior Software Engineer focussing on the development of our backend services, but over the years I have had the pleasure of working on many different things which I think helped shape (for the better or the worse) what Vyn is today.
Tell us about your typical day.
Making the best of our flexible working schedule, I normally don’t set an alarm in the morning 🙂 I first check if anyone needs help from me before getting to my tasks and I am always ready for the odd request from our Customer Success team. I always try to join the fitness and yoga online sessions that the company provides.
What do you enjoy about working at Vyn?
I love working with such diverse and nice colleagues. I really enjoy the flexible working hours and the focus that the company puts into encouraging a healthy lifestyle and a good work/life balance. I have always appreciated the ownership I have of the tasks I am working on and the complexity of the problems and solutions we tackle.
How has the pandemic affected your work life?
The pandemic really changed the way we work, possibly making it even more flexible at Vyn. Before it hit I used to go to our London office two or three times a week, but now I work from home 99% of the time. The biggest downside is that I have not been able to travel as much as before. I prioritised visiting family in Italy over going on surf trips abroad.
When you’re not Vynning, how are you winning?
The thing I love to do the most is surfing and at Vyn, I have been able to pursue this passion much more than I ever did at previous jobs because I have been able to travel and work from many different surf destinations around the world. When I am not surfing, I enjoy eating and cooking, playing video games, watching movies and TV series and of course, spending time with family and friends.
